A bit about me:

  • races on the San Francisco bay and the coastal Pacific (OYRA) around 15-20 weekends per year as well frequent beer cans
  • typically in the pit or headsail trim but versatile to drive, trim main trim or go forward
  • owns a Tartan 10 at Richmond Yacht Club
  • planned, skippered and prior to that crewed in several Chicago to Mackinac races, have placed competitively, overcome mishaps underway and seen brutal offshore conditions (including a dismasting)
  • physically fit, non-smoking

 

What I bring to a team:

  • hands on SaS (renewed January 2024)
  • CPR / First Aid Certified (renewed December 2025)
  • USCG 6 pack trained (paperwork in progress)
  • technically savvy (boat systems, navigation, weather & routing software)
  • can bring my Iridium Go, antennae, etc as a back-up for Starlink
  • provisioning, watch schedules, planning gear, etc
  • experience, enthusiasm and determination

 

What I’m looking for:

  • veterans of crossings to Hawaii or other significant offshore distance racing
  • A good culture amongst crew mates who are skilled and good communicators
  • a well maintained boat vessel with a good balance of speed and comforts to sustain the crew for the crossing

a clear practice schedule of races and offshore outings between now and July
